Loday White

Loday White Technology & Innovation for high performance

  • The Loday White Range was born of the union of two of the world’s best specialists in design, development and production of catamarans.
  • Yves Loday and Reg White, both gold medallists at the Olympic Games in Tornado, have combined their expertise, their talent and their passion, within Loday White, to create efficient and rapid sporting catamarans.

The architect, Yves Loday

Nicknamed "Mr Catamaran", gold medal winner in the Olympic Games in Barcelona 1992, Yves Loday is a prolific and an innovative architect.
His architect-designer speak-for-yourself records are as eloquent as his victories in competition.
Since 1996, he has created numerous catamarans and dinghies like the KL 17 et the KL 15.5 (national class for young people), the Hawk F18, the Dart 16, the Laser EPS, the Mercator Schooner, the Funboat and a score of other models including the Extreme 40.
This demanding sailor navigates with success either on the Spitfire, Shadow, or the Hawk as well as on the transoceanic multihulls, as "Innovation Explorer" with Loick Peyron during The Race.
Impassioned by his profession, he devotes a major part of his time to his design office and to the regatta. He has imported in France and adapted the P.M. A. System Blocks in 85 and created the Formula 18 in association with the F. F. V.

The developer, Reg White

Several times World Champion in Tornado and in other series, he won a gold medal at the Olympic Games of Montreal in 1976. He certainly has the best global experience in construction of catamarans since he began in 1965 and was part of the team that designed the first Tornado, which then became the Olympic catamaran. He was the main constructor until 1984 and with one of his boats he won the Olympic Games in 1992. Since, he has produced a wide range of sporting catamarans with success: Hurricane 5.9 , Dart Hawk, Dart 16, Laser EPS, the Funboat and the whole range of “Topper” dinghies. He also built cruise catamarans in the 70’s including the Iroquois, widely distributed. Reg White oversees the development and construction of the Shadow, Spitfire and Shockwave assured by his son Rob White (who was also world champion in Tornado) and the building yard White Formula in England.
