SECOND YEAR OF SUCCESS FOR THE SL 16 AT EUROCAT
 
 


The SL 16 fleet participated at Eurocat with success. In their category C3, David Szlachta and his crew Ronan Julia won the race with their SL 16. The twin brothers Augier, finished in second place, the same ranking as last year.



“I was surrounded by multiple and smart competitors. During the first ring, we were N°2 and then N°1 during the second regatta. On friday we won the two last races. It was exhausting, with little wind and fog”, stated David Szlachta, vices President of The Class Association (SLICA) and winner at Eurocat.



The SL 16 has just been selected by ISAF for future youth worlds.The SL 16 is a design of Yves LODAY, Gold medal at the Olympic games of Barcelona on a Tornado

Ø Because of its long rudder blade and the powerful mainsail, the SL 16 is easy to tack even if you sail in big waves.

Ø The balance between building technics and price is optimised.

Ø Spare parts are simple, efficient and interchangeable (pre selected brands).

Ø It takes 25 minutes to assemble it.

Ø The pole is removable.

Ø The rudder blade lifts 180°.

Ø The snuffer is light and made of strong material (optimal).

Ø The jib is fully battened : easier to use for light crew in windy conditions and long-lasting.
